Restaurants of San Juan del Sur

Below is a list of our favorite restaurants:

La Cascada Bar & Restaurant, at  Pelican Eyes... Piedras y Olas Hotel & Resort. La Cascada is a fine dining restaurant that over looks the San Juan Bay. The food is delicious and the view is spectacular. Great for sunset viewing! They also have happy hour on Wednesdays and Fridays, 5p.m.- 8p.m., where you can enjoy appetizer specials and two for one drinks.  Sunset View **** phone 568-2110

O’ Sol Mio, which is located at the North end of the beach front, and is definitely one of the best and most reasonably priced eateries for fine Italian cuisine. It is our favorite and great for sunset view!!  Sunset View ****

El Colibri Mediterranean Restaurant, is located in town near the Town Square and church. It has a garden type setting and Mediterranean style food. Arrive early and avoid the crowd. Varied menu and all dishes are tastefully done. Our favorite is the filet mignon!

El Timon, is located at the beachfront at the center and is one of the best restaurants in town to get typical Nica dishes. Our favorite is the lobster. Sunset View ****

El Jardin Garden Restaurant, is located at Bahia Nacascolo, which is about 10 minutes north of San Juan on the Chocolate Rd. The chef offers Thai and Mexican dishes that are unique and delicious! If you are looking for fine dining, we highly recommend El Jardin and the view is great too. Sunset View **** phone 896-2179

Jerry’s Pizza, which is located in the middle of town near the local Mercado. Don’t let the name fool you. They also have great chicken, salads, sandwiches and pasta dishes. The food is good and you cannot beat the prices for the large food portions. If you are looking for the best deal in town, Jerry’s Pizza is the place to go for lunch or dinner.  Phone 804-6640

San Juan Pizza, is located in town near the park. They have many different Italian dishes and have the best pizza in town. This is one of our favorites for one great reason; they deliver!

El Gato Negro English Bookstore and Coffeehouse, is located on the main road to town. If you are looking for great cup of coffee and quality books, this is the place to go. 

Marie’s Bar, is located on the beachfront and is a great spot for people watching. They have a great curry chicken dish and great fish dishes.

Restaurants at the Mercado, There are few restaurants located in the Mercado (Central Market) in the center of town that serve local Nica fare. For the full Nicaraguan experience, we suggest you at least eat one time at the Mercado.

Big Wave Daves, is located on the main road into town and is a popular hangout with tourists and the locals. If you are looking to mingle and enjoy a great meal, this is the spot. 

Red Brick Pizza, is located on the main road into town and is a small quaint with great pasta dishes and pizza.
